London's Luxurious Quarters
We’re all guilty of looking up to celebs as role models; for fashion inspiration, diet and exercise tips and lifestyle choices, such as the most desirable locations to live in around the UK.
If you’re looking for a flat for sale in London and want some inspiration on the finest locations in our great capital that are proven popular hotspots with celebs, then read on!
Putney,Wandsworth
Nestled in the South West of London, Putney is a gorgeous location with lots of open space, parks and sits right next the Thames. Sir Richard Branson, Nick Clegg and Taio Cruz reside here so you’re guaranteed a real mix of talent from business, politics and music. The best place to look for homes in Putney are along Putney Hill, north facing Putney Heath – these stunning buildings have many original features such as semi-circular carriage entrances and exits (so you won’t need to worry about parking space...)
Belgravia, Kensington & Chelsea
It’s renowned for its incredibly pricey flats and houses, so if budget isn’t an issue then the borough of Chelsea and Kensington could be for you! Choose a flat in this area and you’ll be bumping shoulders with Elle Macpherson, Nigella Lawson. It’s one of London’s most fashionable districts. Locations include Belgrave Square, standing proud with its 19th Century stucco buildings enveloping a lush green private garden. You might not be lucky enough to bag a city-pad here as many buildings are used as colleges or businesses but try your luck on Wilton Crescent or Lowndes Square (Roman Abramovich has two stucco houses knocked together as one!)
Notting Hill, Kensington & Chelsea
Home to Portobello Market, exotic Notting Hill Carnival and that blue door Hugh Grant lived behind, Notting Hill is a trendy, cosmopolitan neighbourhood and the house prices reflect its impressive accolade of cultural references. The large Victorian terraces that dominate areas like Ladbroke Grove, Notting Hill Gate and Westbourne Grove are separated by high-end shopping boutiques and restaurants. There’s a strong Caribbean influence which is great news for the food – and the music! Notable residents include designer Stella McCartney, Robbie Williams and Claudia Schiffer.
Although these areas are populated with more celebs than you can shake a stick at, it’s worth considering a move further afield to other counties as it’s not just London that oozes wealth and celebs; there are plenty of other locations around the UK which splash the cash (and the A-listers!). Many celebs choose to reside in the place they originated from; Gary Barlow – a Cheshire born lad – still has a home in the county (all be it a bigger one!). How about the west midlands? If you’re looking for houses for sale in Birmingham try areas such as Sutton Coldfield, the birth place of Cat Deeley, or Aston where Ozzy Osbourne was born. You’ll find that these locations are cheaper than London and you’ll be able to get more for your money, although will lose out on playing ‘I Spy’ with the cast of Made In Chelsea. The choice is yours!
